You’ve seen this a gajillion times in tons of movies: At a critical moment the shot you see on the screen is tilted at an angles to heighten a dramatic moment or mood or a suggest a foreboding sense that something is not quite right or about to go wrong. The tilted shot is based on a technique called the “Dutch angle.” The short video above explains it all and shows examples of how it has been used in all types of films.
