
There are many definition of the word “ideal.” One of these is “an ultimate object or aim of endeavor.” Another is “a standard of perfection, beauty, or excellence.” And yet another is “existing as a mental image or in fancy or imagination only, broadly : lacking practicality.”
There are more along these lines, as well as more specific philosophical and mathematical meanings, too. Add to these “the word on a painting by American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. His painting has the the word roughly painted in black within a black-lined oval, which suggests the logo of the old American toy company named Ideal.
