Pictured here is “22:22,” a wall-installation artwork by German artist Martin Honert at the Hamburger Bahnhoff Museum in Berlin. Based in Dusseldorf, Germany, Honert is known for his sculptures and sculptural objects and installations. This artwork appeared as part of a major solo show called “Kinderkreuzzug” currently at the museum. The German title of the show means “children’s crusade” in English.
The Hamburger Bahnhof Museum is one of our favorite art museums in the world in one of our favorite cities in the world. The museum is in a massive former railway terminus station and devoted to contemporary art. The exhibition spaces of the Hamburger are sprawled across multiple levels with sides galleries large and small, plus the huge, airy main exhibition space where trains bound for Hamburg and points northwest of Berlin once departed and arrived at a series of platforms. A must-visit art space for when you’re in Berlin.
