“Miniskirts Are Back” Mural in NYC

A declarative fashion-edict cliche “Minskirts are Back” is painted in a cartoonish, woodsy typeface on this storefront roller shutter on the Bowery south of Delancey in New York’s Lower East Side. This is one of many street art pieces on storefront shutters along the Bowery commissioned as part of a local art project started by the new Museum of Contemporary Art a few years ago.

Fresh Street Artwork by Serban Ionescu & David Nordine

We ran into artists Serban Ionescu and David Nordine on Ludlow St, in New York’s Lower East Side, where they were collaborating on a large street art painting. The mural is a work in progress and was commissioned by the owner of a building that’s currently being renovated and turned into luxury condos. The artwork is on the large roller-shutter that fronts the building, which is at 55 Ludlow Street, just south of Grand Street (and near Global Graphica HQ).
